Songs & Stories of the Skeena

Your own private concert with renowned Northern BC musicians along various scenic stops exploring down 150 kms of the mystical, magical and musical Skeena River by boat!

8:00am: Meet at the VIA Rail Station
Meet at the Terrace VIA Rail Station and shuttle to the boat launch for departure!
Explore, Adventure, Be Amazed
The wilderness scenery is spectacular sprinkled with the remnants of early settlements.
5:00pm: Arrive at the Cassiar Cannery
Freshen up before enjoying a fine dining meal, a short show and an overnight
8:30am: Board VIA Rail to Terrace
VIA Rail will pick you up from the Cassiar Cannery for a scenic train trip back to Terrace.

You’ll travel up the powerful Skeena river, face large wilderness fires, conquer elusive mountain peaks and tap into that feeling of loving or leaving the place where you live. Born and raised in Smithers BC, Mark draws inspiration from his love for rural Canada — the strengths, the struggles, and the impacts of the landscapes and the dramatic change of seasons. He tours and performs at festivals, theatres and community halls and makes every audience feel like they’re in his living room.

Please note that tides, time and weather play a strong role in what is accessible on the Lower Skeena. Your experienced guides are very familiar with the shifting moods of the Skeena and will tailor the day to suit.

Skeena Tributaries

A quick jaunt up one of the spectacular Skeena Tributaries is a great start to getting your camera finger warmed up! Full of waterfalls and towering mountains, these rivers seem to get better and better around every turn

Skeena River

Wildlife – definitely birds and fingers crossed for seals, sea lions, porpoises, wolves and grizzly or black bears!
Canneries and Historic Sites: remnants of boilers, pilings, bottles, cemeteries, boneyards and buildings.
Waterfalls and Stunning Scenery: guaranteed to be gorgeous! Ideal trip for photographers.

CASSIAR CANNERY

Rainbow heritage houses will greet you when you turn the corner off the Skeena River into Inverness Passage. Your warm and cozy Guest House is waiting for you to freshen up before enjoying Chef’s fresh, fine dining food.
